Reviews for leatherdeal.com

Last Weekend, I was in the market for a new Shearling coat when I came across leatherdeal.com’s website. They offered some decent prices on coats, t-shirt & jackets and also offered free delivery and exchanges. I decided to place my order for a t-shirt and jacket. Both arrived in a little over a month. Upon it’s arrival and when the delivery was brought into my home in detroit city, the box as well as the new jacket and hat smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. This was not just a hint of smoke, everything, including the packaging, and all of it’s contents were infused with heavy cigarette smoke. I had to immediately remove everything to a place where there was more air flow. There it stayed for days until the smell subsided. I have been ordering through the internet as it became available, before then, from catalogs.

Not once, in all my years of ordering clothing and other merchandise has anything smelled as bad as the merchandise I had ordered from leatherdeal.com. I decided I should notify the company telling them of the problem. Several days later, they sent a e-mail with a note of apology and said they would investigate their shipping personnel and for my inconvenience, send me a new garment bag as soon as possible. This March 14th, and to this date, April 14, 2009, I have yet to receive any new garment bag. The hat I had ordered was very good, however, more snug than I would like it to be. I contacted the company since they claim they would exchange at no additional fee. I was exchanging for another item at the same price. I was issued a Return Authorization number with a ship date of February 19th. Weeks had passed and no exchange item was received. I contacted leatherdeal again. Several days later, Marshall Matthers, their Customer Service Representative, changed this new shipping date to April 6, 2009. To this date, again, my promised exchange has not been received. I decided to write Matt to find out the status of my exchange and sent another e-mail asking if the color I ordered was still in production if another color would be available. With these last two e-mails, they have been completely ignored. At this time, I no longer expect to hear from them. If this is how leatherdeal.com deals with their Customer Service, they can be assured a loss of Customers forever. I for one will not be giving leatherdeal any of my business nor will I be recommending them to anyone in the market for a Shearling coat. Leatherdeal made promises and did not keep any of them. In order to keep your customers and to build your business, promises that were made need to be kept. If problems should arise with the order, the customer should be notified. None of this was ever done. The company that I would highly recommend would be Mill Valley Leather company. They were very prompt with their delivery and everything arrived in excellent condition. They have many more beautiful styles to choose from and have excellent Customer Service..
